Sustainability
At Alma Rosa Winery and Vineyards, we are passionate about producing exceptional wines while safeguarding the health of our land, community, and environment.
Alma Rosa was the first certified organic vineyard in Santa Barbara County in 1983. Today, we remain committed to preserving the authenticity and sustainability of our terroir through a variety of eco-friendly farming practices.
Our estate spans over 600 acres, with just under 50 acres planted to vineyards. The remaining land is left to native wildlife and plant species.
Under the leadership of Winemaker Samra Morris and Viticulturist Erik Mallea, we continually implement initiatives across both our winery and vineyards that focus on environmental responsibility. Our commitment to eco-conscious farming practices includes enhancing biodiversity, conserving water, and prioritizing the well-being of our team.
By employing sustainable techniques like integrated pest management, soil health preservation, and energy efficiency, we are ensuring the long-term vitality of our vineyard for future generations. We are proud to be part of a growing community of wineries dedicated to creating a sustainable future, while producing wines that reflect the unique character of the Sta. Rita Hills.
